Human development brings ever greater benefits, however not free of adverse consequences especially for coastal areas worldwide. For these reasons it is necessary to take urgent action to harmonize the uses of coastal areas and the growth of human life in them. The Regional Project RLA/7/012 "Use of Nuclear Techniques to Address the Management Problems of Coastal Zones in the Caribbean Region" is one of the specific actions performed in the Greater Caribbean, where makers decisions, scientific and maritime communities come together for a common goal: the sustainability of marine and coastal areas.
