Abstract

Capa vectorial shapefile tipo punto que representa las coordenadas de dos estaciones ubicadas al norte (P1) y al sur (P2) donde se obtuvieron los promedios mensuales de magnitud del viento y Hs en el área de la Cordillera Submarina Beata. Esta capa de información se utilizó apara analizar el campo de los vientos y la dinamica del oleaje.A partir de series de tiempo 1979 – 2021 del reanálisis ERA5 – ECMWF, se calcularon los ciclos anuales de la velocidad del viento a 10 m de altura sobre el nivel del mar y altura de ola (Hs) al norte (P1) (15.0 °N y 73 °W) y al sur (P2) (13.5 °N y 73.0 °W) del polígono que delimita la Cordillera Submarina Beata. La resolución espacial de la velocidad del viento fue 0.25° x 0.25° mientras Hs tuvo una resolución de 0.50° x 0.50°. La resolución temporal de ambas variables fue mensual. A partir de esta información, se analizó la influencia y la variabilidad estacional del Jet de Bajo Nivel del Caribe sobre el campo de vientos y la dinámica del oleaje en el área. Información secundaria obtenida de la base de datos ERA5 del Centro Europeo de Pronósticos a Mediano Plazo (ECMWF)
